Bowling and Bruises

The weekend after we saw Wicked, we spent a lot of our time with family.  We gathered a huge group at Sunset Lanes and bowled a couple games.  Shelby and Soren loved it and I loved watching them, especially Soren.  He was so stinkin' cute trying to heave that heavy ball down the lane.  It was such a fun time!

While we were bowling, Stryder went with a friend to some game truck party.  He was so excited about it for days before.  While there, he had a run in with a low metal bar on the playground.  It totally knocked him to the ground.  He was super swollen and looking pretty funny that first day.  This picture is a day or two later.  The swelling had gone down some but the bruising was getting darker and very purple.  It got looking a little worse but I never pulled my camera out to take more pictures of it.  He's been a good sport about it and a super tough guy.  There is still a bit of a bump and yellowish-green bruising but he's starting to look more and more like himself.

The Wizard and I

Words can not even begin to describe that night.  I was on the edge-of-my-seat-stupid-giddy-excited-crying-tears-of-joy the whole show.  It was everything and above and beyond all that I was hoping it would be.  After my very Wizard of Oz summer this was just too much Goodness!  I knew ahead of time I would be emotional seeing how I've been waiting about 8 years to see it but I had no idea I would be as overwhelmed as I was.  I can't even tell you why other than I just was so happy to finally experience it.  And happiness is what happens when all your dreams come true, right? As far as my favorite part goes...Defying Gravity!  Simply wonderful, beautiful, amazing, and awe-inspiring.  The actresses and actors were incredible and it was just Perfect!  It was wonderful having my hubby by my side, after years and years of singing the songs together in the car, as it all came together on the stage. Thank you mom and dad for a once in a lifetime experience, I will never forget!

Another Pin

Stryder is finally, officially a Wolf!  He earned his Wolf badge in Cub Scouts and we are so proud of him.  Now onto Bears.  He has such a great group of boys his age and awesome leaders who I am so grateful for.  I'm looking forward to all the rest of the pins he gets to give me.
